My goal is to find myself in a position which both challenges me in the areas of UNIX and Internetworking, and permits me the time to dedicate to myself.
I am entertaining opportunities in the Information Technology field, specifically working with UNIX systems and Internetworking. I bring to the table over six years of experience in the Internet, UNIX, and ten years of experience in general computing. I have operated my own Webhosting Company for two years (in fact, this site is still hosted on one of my servers), and I have worked as a Programmer/Admin for four years. I now work as a Senior Programmer/UNIX administrator for a diverse IT company, supporting developers and quality assurance engineers working on commercial e-commerce applications.
I work well within or at the head of a team operation, but perform at my best while working on my own, or in conjunction with several others working on parallel projects. I excel under pressure, and enjoy the challenge of working on new or experimental ideas and concepts.
I am currently attached to the Edmonton, Canada area, and prefer positions which allow me to remain within the region, although I might be convinced to change my mind.
Please note that this is not intended to be a complete representation of all concepts with which I am familiar, but instead to be show the general areas in which I have competance, by providing examples. I would be happy to discuss my familiarity with topics not covered below as well.

Most of my hobbies are technology-related. I enjoy working with the FreeBSD operating system, both in a server environment and as a personal workstation. I encourage and participate in the development of open source software. Along those lines, I find programming on my own to be a fantastic personal challenge, and am always willing to dip into new programming languages just for the exposure.
As for my music tastes, they are quite limited. My preferences include punk-rock, hip-hop, trance, techno, and industrial for a louder sound.
My main goal in life is quite simple; to be satisfied, both professionally and personally. In more practical terms, I strive to be the best at what I do, be it programming, systems/network administration, or any other position I might find myself in.
More specifically, my aim is to position myself as a systems and network administrator and architect, using my skills to create and manage heterogeneous networks and diverse technologies. My preferences lie with anything related to Internetworking issues, and deployment of creative solutions to new problems.
